The Jonas Brothers make comeback after 6-year hiatus

The words of Billy Eichner ring true: “The Jonas Brothers are back!”

The comedian took the musical trio out on the streets of New York to spread the news. But this was not the first time the public was notified of their reunion.

The siblings shook the social media world on Feb. 28 when they announced the release of their new single with a glamorous, posed photograph captioned, “Midnight ET #Sucker.”

Young adults across the globe who grew up listening to the Jonas Brothers’ music expressed their excitement by making “Sucker” a No. 1 chart-topper. The band had not released an album together since 2010.

Promotion of their musical rebirth appeared on other shows besides Billy Eichner’s “Billy on the Street.” Television personalities such as James Corden and Jimmy Fallon hosted Joe, Nick and Kevin to ask them about their breakup, makeup, and childhood fame.

An album wasn’t the only surprise the brothers unfolded within the last year. Both Nick and Joe tied the knot with celebrities Priyanka Chopra and Sophie Turner. Kevin celebrated this milestone almost a decade ago with his current wife Danielle Jonas.

The three ladies joined the debut festivities when they starred in the music video for “Sucker” alongside their significant others. The video, which has over 188 million views, features the three couples dancing, dining and frolicking around a majestic castle while wearing flashy, colorful wardrobe. On March 1, the video premiered a day after the song was released.

I proudly confess as a 21-year-old woman that I will be attending the Orlando show of the “Happiness Begins Tour” on Friday. Two of my friends who I went to high school with will be joining me aboard this musical time machine.

The tickets to the 7:30 p.m. concert cost $105 per person from Ticketmaster. I have full confidence the splurge will be worth seeing my childhood crushes perform live.

I’m crossing my fingers that the Jonas Brothers will play their timeless favorites of mine such as “Burnin’ Up”, “Love Bug” and “When You Look Me In The Eyes.”

The upcoming performance at the Amway Center is the second stop on their international tour, which concludes on Feb. 22 in Paris, France. The 6-month journey kicks off in the Sunshine State Wednesday night at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
